She became increasingly passionate about taking control of her health holistically after medication provided little relief. Natalie found that a holistic approach lead to healing and pursued becoming a certified health coach. She now helps women with fibromyalgia decrease pain, increase their energy and lose weight so they can live an active lifestyle and be in healthy relationships with others. My Story

At 35 years old, my life began to fall apart. My decade-old marriage had become a lonely, lifeless thing that would not wake up no matter how hard I tried to shake it, ultimately ending in divorce. Then I had to have two painful surgeries rendering me unable to bear children (not that I ever planned to, but losing your “womanhood” is hard no matter how you slice it).

Instead of making a speedy recovery, I began to experience severe constant pain all over my body, and started feeling like all of my energy was being sucked out of me. The pain gradually became worse and I was frustrated at my inability to get my healthy, active self back. Anxiety and depression began to take hold of me. I was becoming someone I didn’t recognize.

After all sorts of testing and medication trials from my primary doctor, I was referred to a neurologist, a rheumatologist, an internal medicine specialist, and a psychiatrist, all of whom ordered their own tests and came to the same conclusion: I had fibromyalgia.

I joined the fibromyalgia program at a local hospital, where they would help me devise a holistic plan for getting my life back on track. Our plan had me experimenting with different foods to manage my inflammation and nerve pain, and focusing on gentle fitness that would create energy instead of leaving me depleted. I discovered through my research that everything plays into a person’s health; genes, food, and fitness–of course–but also our relationships, environments, spiritual practices, careers, finances, and so much more. I slowly began to build my strength back up. I learned about whole foods and super foods and how they work to help the body heal itself. I turned toward yoga, pilates, and light weight training. And most importantly: I had hope! Now I'm feeling awesome! I am back to living an active life I enjoy, am pain free, and most importantly, I feel like myself again.

Tammy Bomhof

"Natalie was a huge encouragement in my ongoing wellness journey. She was knowledgeable about supplements and many other things to consider. She made me realize that even though I am mid-forties there is hope to get healthier. I learned that I appreciated counting macros, and my body felt more balanced with keeping high protein as the main goal. Best of all she is a better friend and my only wish is that I had gotten the courage to talk to her sooner."

"If I had to choose one word to describe Natalie, that word would be "spirited." She is one of those truly engaging people one rarely encounters in life whose level of exuberance, kindness, and approachability seems to very much define who they are."

Sally Hoekstra

"Natalie encourages me daily... emotionally, physically and spiritually. Time spent with her is worthwhile time."
